Phonesaber is an application which imitates Lightsaber sounds when you move your iPhone or iPod touch around. Because of the accelerometer inside, the application can detect when you move your device.
So if you move it a certain way, or at a certain speed it will be able to pick up on the movement. If you were to slowly move your iPhone to the right, it would make the low buzzing noise that a Lightsaber makes. Then if you start swishing your iPhone all over the place, the sounds change, and make Lightsaber noises as if you are in a battle with someone.
You can choose from 5 different colors, but changing from one color to another doesn’t affect the sound. The application is a fun little application to play around with, but there are some problems with the application which are a let down. The sound effects are accurate to the sound of the Lightsabers in Star Wars, but the problem is that there are only about 5 or 6 different sound effects that it actually makes depending on which way you move it, this is a minor problem, but after a while it is noticeable and makes you wish each sound was a little more unique.
On the whole, the application is a fun little application to show your friends the functionality of your iPhone or iPod Touch.
I downloaded this app and was generally unimpressed. I search for apps using the “just for ipod touch” filter and this still was there. It makes it pointless to have since the touch doesn’t have built in speakers like the iphone. Fun for the phone but not the touch.
They do warn about the no speaker issue and the iPod Touch. . .but it does work on it(unlike a GPS application).
its a funny app but could only entertain you for no longer than 2 minutes, but it is free :)
