iMaze is a game in which you have to work a small ball out of a maze by tilting your iPhone or iPod Touch to the side. If you tilt the device down, then the ball will move down, if you tilt it to the side, then it will move to the side. The only control scheme for this application is tilting, so you can’t move the ball to the end of the maze by touching the screen at all.
Sadly , the game doesn’t seem to facilitate the ball being able to roll, so it just skips down the screen. This can become a problem at times because it means that you may miss an opening in the side of the path.
You can play the game on two difficulty levels, one being easy and the other hard. Going from easy to hard is a major difference in the amount of routes on screen, but seen as though the clock isn’t counting down in the game and only counting up, you don’t really feel the need to rush and can just stop and look at what route you can take before you even set off.
The game does have some major bugs, which can make the experience annoying, such as when you get to the end of the maze, the ball doesn’t go through the gap, and the timer doesn’t stop, and there seems to be no kind of high score system, which can be kind of a let down if you worked hard to get to the end. (Game reviewed on an iPod Touch, may be different on iPhone)
But apart from a few issues, it’s fun to try and find your way to the end of the maze if you want to see how fast you can do it in.
UPDATE: Hackosphere have updated the description of the app to say that they will be fixing the “jerkiness” in the next version. Keep tuned on AppStoreApps for an updated review when the new version is released.
