When you first open the game you touch the screen to start. Then you are presented with the menu for the Main Game, Instant Play, Practice, Ranking, and Options.
Main Game lest you pick a monkey and then pick a world. Complete the levels in the world to move onto the next world. There are 5 worlds total.
Instant Play drops you right into a level instantly. You don’t get to pick the level. . .or the monkey.
Practice lets you pick a monkey to practice with and lets you pick a world(an unlocked one), and then a difficulty to practice on.
Ranking lets you pick world, a difficulty, and then a stage. Once here you can check the top 3 fastest scores(on your device only) for that specific level.
Options lets you adjust the music and sound effect levels as well as reset the ranking scores.
Super Monkey Ball always reminded me of Marble Madness. . .and what beats the old controls of Marble Madness(remember the ball)? Being able to actually control the platform instead of the ball.
So you must hold your iPhone or iPod Touch level with the ground(the reason why the camera angle in the video below is off). Tilt the device to the left and ball will roll toward the left. Tilt it forward and it will roll forward(and so on). It seems the application is a little ‘jerky’. . .but I hear an update will add a ‘sensitivity meter’ in the options panel and possibly include a calibrate feature too.

Love this game! many people say that the control are really bad and its not worth buying but i totally disagree, once you have mastered the controls the game is awesome! It took me about 30min to get used to them but after that the game is very fun and i couldnt put it down untill i completed it. The price is also great for what the game actually is! 100+ levels for $10 is better than anything your going to get on a DS which the graphics are the same as. I think this game is worth the money and should be bought by everyone if they got the money
This is a fantastic app for kids. This is one of the essential apps that you NEED to download if you want to make your “App Collection” complete. This is how Super Monkey Ball was ment to be played. Playing this game on the GameCube (Wii) but this is the best user interface for any game like this. To make this game take off: lower the price. $5.99 would be better.
