The Wordpress application has finally been released. When you first open this application it asks you to add your blog. Put in the domain name, username, and password, and tell it how many of the past X posts(published) that you would like to see.

Most likely you will get this error telling you need to turn on a feature from within the admin control panel in Wordpress.

This is easy to fix. Simply login to the control panel. . .click ‘Settings’ and then click ‘Writing’. About half way down the page you will see the XML-RPC section with a box. Check the box and click ‘Save Changes’ at the bottom.

Now that you have turned on XML-RPC you can login to your Wordpress blog. Once you login you are given a list of posts, almost like an RSS feed. Scroll through the posts or even look at the ‘local drafts’ that haven’t been published yet.

When you click into a post you are able to edit that post. You can change the Title, Tags, Categories, whether it’s published or not, and the body of the particular post. You can also check the photos for that post, look at the preview for that post(how it looks in the web browser), and even put a password on a post.

From the list of published posts, you’ll see a button at the bottom right. Clicking this will bring you to the ‘new post’ page. Set the title, keywords, categories, status, and the post itself. Now this does allow you to do /almost/ everything you could do in the control panel. . .it does have it’s limitations.

Sadly you can not write pages. I’m not sure why. . .it seems easy enough, but I guess it’s just hasn’t been tested/implemented yet. I would almost guarantee that this feature will be included in future updates(even though I have nothing to base it on, lol). I could see this being a GREAT application to jot down those post ideas on the run. Maybe even an offline mode too? I would love the ability to write down ideas there and then have them ‘upload’ when I have an internet connection later.

Note - Sorry about the audio. . .I’m not sure why it’s so low for this video.
