Trism is a highly addictive puzzle game much like the popular Bejeweled game. Instead of moving the pieces up and down. . .you move them more at an angle to incorporate the triangles. You must match the sides of 3 pieces of the same color. When those pieces disappear the rows above slide down. . .no matter which way you have the iPhone or iPod Touch turned.
When you rotate your iPhone it will show you an arrow indicating which way the pieces will fall after you find a match. This is cool and really makes you think before you decide which row to slide.
This game has 3 different and very engaging game types.
Infinism – Is a mode that lets you see how many points you can obtain in a free range mode. Terminism – Is like Infinism. . .except that you’re on a time limit which adds a new layer to the game. Syllogism – Is a mode that asks you to ’solve the puzzle’ in X amount of moves. The higher you get in this mode the harder the challenges become.
You also have a Tutorial mode which shows you each of those symbols that sometimes appear on a triangle game piece.
They have another factor to this game called Achievements. You unlock these for doing things like ‘disarming a bomb’. Which is a special piece that has a timer on it. Match that piece and make it disappear before the time limit runs out and you unlock this achievement.
They have a feature that lets you put your game on ‘pause’ basically. When you double tap the scren during gameplay, then touch exit. . .it asks you if you want to end the game all together or just put take a break from the game. Touch break and then when you start a game back up, it will detect that a saved game and ask if you want to resume that last game. This feature really makes this game a killer app for quick on-the-go playing.
My only complaint about this game is that it takes a while to load and get back into my saved game(or even a new game). I’m not saying there is a loading bar or anything, but I just seem to be waiting for the menus to fade in and out a lot.
I love this game. The demo through installer ain’t got nothin’ on this game. I am amazed that this game sold and is still selling for $4.99. This is one of, if not, the best game(s) available through the app store.
I have been sooo addicted to this game lately!!!
Thanks for the good review! Glad you guys like the game.
