I have to say this is by far the best version of Tetris that I have seen on the iPhone. The one downfall is the price, I think if they dropped it down to the level of Trism(4.99). . .then they would do much better.
I have seen this type of control in a couple of Tetris games for the iPhone. . .but that combined with the excellent graphics makes this one the best. The control is very smooth and ‘fluid-like’ with a cool ’slam’ move. If you swipe the screen down, then the block will drop down(really fast) giving you a bonus if it completes a line.
This was one of the first apps I bought from the apps store. It’s awesome! Although it isn’t free like the now unavailable TRIS, this is tetris. EA has done a great job on the controls with this game and the presentation is great. There are a bunch of different modes and the levels are challenging enough but still forgiving to make play on the touch screen surface enjoyable. The downside is of course the price. If EA restructured their pricing on available apps I think they’d have many more downloads of their great games. All-in-all I’d say that if you like tetris and want a great version, buy this one, that is if you can stand to lighten your digital wallet.
