In the recent update to the iPhone firmware Apple has given us the ability to pause an application downloading from the App Store. This is great in case you’re downloading a very big app and must go somewhere that doesn’t have WiFi.
To do this simply tap on the application icon while it’s downloading and you’ll see the text change to ‘Paused’. When you’re ready to resume this download touch the icon again and you’ll see the text revert back.

Is there any way to delete a paused application download?
I don’t think so. I had an application get stuck while downloading one time. . .but after a few restarts, it connected and finished downloading(so then I could delete it).
That’s horrible that you can’t delete it. I tried to install something but it turns out it was 306 MB. Now I have to download it all to get rid of it…
Sorry Sean, currently I believe that’s the only way.
how can i delete the songs?
you can delete by just sycing the phone – then it will be gone
