iBowl is a game that mimics the gameplay of Wii Sports: Bowling. You actually hold your iPhone like you’re holding a bowling ball. Touch(and hold the bowl button), and then swing your iPhone as if you’re bowling(and then let go of the bowl button).
This game doesn’t have much strategy to it. You can’t curve the ball, so the whole time you’re just lining the ball and throwing it straight. For a game an application to go so far as to mimic the true bowling experience, it is lacking this important feature.
But for a free application you can’t complain right? The best part is that the developers now have time to add new features that could really make this one killer application for the iPhone.
You can’t really ‘challenge’ anyone either. . .it just opens an email, puts in your high score, and tells the person to download the application and try to beat your best score.
cool idea but the last thing i want is my phone to slip out of my hand and go flying across the room!
I’m with you DementD, this and iGolf scared me. I was super super cautious while I was playing with it. . .but that just makes it not as fun.
It responds to any quick movement in any given direction, and is actually easier to use by just flicking your wrist slightly with it facing you.
The iPhone isn’t a wii controller that you can pick up for $30 and has a strap to prevent it from going flying. The iPhone is going to set you back $400 to replace should you break it in the first 2 years, has no strap, and is significantly harder to hold onto than a wiimote anyway (glass and aluminum vs plastic molded to fit a hand).
Trying to play the game as intended doesn’t work that well, leaves you distinctly uncomfortable with it, and you can’t see the screen while playing …
Ibowl is pretty much thee best ipod touch game ever! c: and theres no way you could let it slip out of your hands. you dont have to make it seem like your actually bowling you can just flick your wrists a little and not even risk it. its so fun and addictive!
