Kroll is one of the best looking action adventure games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It comes with 3 different difficulties to choose from, and spans across 3 chapters. There are 6 ’soft buttons’ on the screen, the 2 at the bottom are for moving left/right. . .the 2 in the middle are for quick attacks and the 2 at the top are for heavy attacks.
Quick attacks do less damage but recover quicker between swings(and the opposite can be said about the heavy attacks). The game comes with a bunch of different monsters to kill. Each with their own strategy to kill you.
I enjoyed the gameplay of this game. They mixed it up enough to not make it boring, but they give you enough time to learn how to play well. It comes with boss fights at the end of the levels. The game reminds me of a miniature version of God of War(less weapons, less combos, etc). . .but a good start to a hopefully series of games(with the potential to get better and better).
If done correctly, Kroll has the potential to be the first game that actually compares to the gameplay of games like God of War for the PSP.
Great game, though it is 3d, it is really only a 3d side scroller with some quicktime events. It’s fun, but it’s short. All in all, it’s great to see something like this in the app store.
