Touchgrind is the first premium fingerboarding game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This game takes a while to learn, but there are great how-to videos inside the app to help teach you the moves. It also comes with over 10 unlockable boards(with different abilities) to keep you working to unlock them all.
You have icons on the screen as you skate through the park area that tells you where the ramps, rails and other obstacles are. This way you can line up your run and then go. Movement is just like a real skateboard, so if you slide both fingers to one side, it begins to turn. . .if you only hold one side of the board, the other side lifts up. This application uses great physics effects to make it feel real.
This game took 5-10 minutes just to go through the how-to section to learn the moves. Then once you start playing you might end up going to refresh your memory because it’s a lot to take in at first. Not only do the finger movements take a minute to get used to, but also holding the device while you play takes some time to get just right.
Overall it was a fun game, not including the moments when you just miss. . .but when you pull it off just right it is a very satisfying experience.
Absolutely love this game, I knew it would be awesome the moment i saw the first trailer, the graphics are fantastic, the controls are brilliant and the game never freezes or lags or anything, I think if you have the money and you love the idea go get it because it is one of the best games i have played on my phone. At first it is hard navigate around but after a short amount of time you get used to your deck and can do amazing tricks easily. Although I have completed it, it still has a great replay value and there are many features which are soon to come which are shown on the apps website.
While this game does have somewhat of a learning curve, it is a blast to play once you get the hang of the game mechanics. I do wish the screen was somewhat zoomed out a bit so that I could see the obstacles a bit sooner. I know it’s probably not possible because of the size of the skateboard in relation to my fingers. Anyway, this is a great game that is a good fun distraction to spend time on while you’re waiting for a bus/train/plane/car pool/dentist, whatever. Go buy it.
great game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome graphics, although updates are taking a little to long…. its worth the price if it were 2$ or what ever. BUT STILL GREAT!!!!
