Fieldrunners is the premiere tower defense game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. With 2 game modes to pick and multiple maps to play on, you will be busy for days and days. The different maps brings yet another layer of strategy to the game which really makes you think of the entire game differently.
You have Classic Mode and Endless Mode. Classic Mode will challenge you to go to 100 rounds. If you can make it through then you’ll unlock new features. Endless mode is just that, an endless game that sends wave after wave of enemies getting hard until you lose the game.
It comes with a local high scores leaderboard so you can try to beat your best high score. I didn’t see an online leaderboard, but they do update the game with new maps. . .so maybe they will add this feature in the future.
I’m so glad you finally got around to reviewing Fieldrunners! I love this game, it’s in my top 3 favorite games available on the app store. The price is right, the graphics are great, I’ve yet to run into any crashes or game glitches, and the functionality with the touch interface is great. I noticed for a long time that Tap defense was the #1 free game on the app store, and all I could think to myself was, “you poor ignorant fools.” Seriously, if you are into tower defense games, or are simply looking for a fun casual game to keep you occupied for up to about an hour at a time (depending on your difficulty and expertise with the game) then Fieldrunners is for you.
I agree field runners is good and i used to play it daily…but it’s not the best, recently i got 7citiesTD and it’s a lot more enjoyable. If you like Fieldrunners, you should definitely try 7citiesTD
