Rolando is a platforming game that uses the accelerometer, touch, and multi-touch controls to solve the puzzles in each level(to get from start to finish). Play through 4 ‘worlds’ and over 35 different levels, with increasing difficulty.
This game got a lot of hype after it’s release. I like platformer games but only when you have precise control over the character. It’s can sometimes be hard to make a successful jump when you’re using the vague tilt controls. Sometimes you don’t tilt it enough to gain speed, sometimes you tilt it too much and can’t correct yourself before going over the edge, and sometimes you try to jump and it doesn’t do anything(it switches to select mode).
However, those faults make the game more challenging, which could be intriguing to some gamers. Personally I get frustrated and end up having to put it down for a while. But like most games when I pick it back up later(with a fresh start) it becomes easier. The puzzles were sort of like the ones in Enigmo, where you look at it and think ‘there is no way I can get through this level’. . .but then after a few minutes it clicks and then you understand it.
