Asterope is an arcade style, story driven game where the goal is to steer your ship through the caves of an asteroid. The bad part is that you can’t directly steer the spaceship directly. . .it always goes straight. You can turn the ship by shooting out a cord(attaching it to a wall), which in forces the ship to turn.
I like that the developers added a story to the game. It just makes you feel like you’re getting into the game more. You will notice that the dialog and story isn’t anything special, it’s just short and to the point. You understand what’s going and it doesn’t take an hour to learn.
Touching a wall of the asteroid will shoot out a ‘rope’ and attach itself to that wall. As the ship continues going forward the rope will physically turn it in that direction. Because this is the only way to turn the ship it isn’t very accurate at all, but this is what makes the game challenging.
It also comes with an arcade mode in case you finish the story mode, which comes with a high scores list. This way the game is still playable after you beat the story mode. . .and you have a score that you can always aim to beat.
love it
I’m with you Pete. After reading through the how-to for this game I thought ‘this isn’t going to be fun at all’. . .but it was both entertaining and challenging.
