Hero of Sparta is a 3rd person view action game much like God of War is for the PS2 and PSP(and soon to be PS3). It does have an RPG element where you can level up your health and magic meters. You also pick up different items throughout the game(like the shield) that helps you fight the increasingly bigger enemies.
They also use timed events to handle some of the more epic kills and reversals. The story is great, it pulls you in quickly and keeps you in by short dialog and narration through the levels. The graphics are also great for a mobile device, with a complete 3D environment to attack your enemies. It can sometimes feel clunky(like when trying to jump), but those moments are far and few between.
Even though I’m not a fan of the slide-able control pad that more and more of these games are using, it didn’t ruin the game. Maybe toward the end when it comes down to that one mistake I make with the controls and it kills me. . .maybe then I would hate it even more. But I’ve only played this for a few hours, it’s possible that the final bosses won’t be so kind.
At that point, solar could be a primary power source for nations with a lot of sun- that being most of the world. ,
