Spawn Illuminati is a toy that lets you control some wild looking visual effects. The effects look very similar to lasers/fireworks and the best part is that you can control it.

Spawn Illuminati is going to be very popular among ‘ravers’ and the more heavy drug users(acid, ecstasy, shrooms, etc). The idea that you can take some drugs and just loose yourself inside this application will appeal to a lot of people in that crowd.

While the visual effects are very pleasing and it is fun to control it. . .the fun only lasts for a few minutes, and then it gets pretty boring. I think this application would sell much more at a $0.99 price point, but since it doesn’t appeal to that many people, the current price might be the best(the developers would have to test the results). I just know how some people get after they purchase an application and get bored of it after 5-10 minutes.

Colors! is a painting application that lets you draw for hours and hours and never have to waist paint, paper, or anything else. Colors! comes with a paint brush(sizable), fading tool, color picker, and more features to assist you in your drawing.

The first thing the developers boast about Colors! is it’s ease of use. And I must say, that is where Colors! shines. I have tried other paint applications available in the app store(and even reviewed quite a few here). . .but this is the first that I could jump in and quickly create something that didn’t just look like something from MSPaint.

Other paint applications try to wedge in as many features as possible(in hopes of selling more copies), but in the end it just makes things cluttered and unusable. With Colors! you have just enough features to make it useful and fun. . .but not too many that it makes you forget where a certain feature is.

I’m not artistic in any way shape or form, so I’m not the best person to review this application. But for a casual user. . .it was fun.

TV Forecast helps you find out the next NEW episode of your favorite TV shows. Instead of turning on the TV and finding out it’s just a re-run, now you can see ahead of schedule(even months ahead) to find out the next time a set of shows comes on.

It comes with a suggestive search so just in case you can’t remember all of it, just type in a few words(or letters) and let it suggest some shows for you.

After you add all of your favorite shows into the application you will see them(with cover art) in both the Upcoming and Previously lists. Touching a show will bring up a brief summary of what the new episode is about.

Is your show does not have a new episode for another 2-3 months, thats ok. As long as it’s confirmed(on I assume TVRage.com) it will be listed in the application. I love this feature to find out when shows are confirmed for a new seaosn.

This is basically a personalized TV Guide. Even though you have to set it up with the TV shows you want to see, that’s what makes it extremely useful.

Sparkles is a visually satisfying toy that is nice for kids or when wanting to show off some of what the iPhone and iPod Touch can do.

Tilting the device will move the sparkles around the screen. . .touching it will make a noise and create more sparkles to move around. Shaking the device will reset the board and even change the colors.

While I first thought this wasn’t going to be one of the best apps around, I thought it would fun to play with(like the other toy applications available). Instead I was more annoyed than anything else.

It did look great, and moving the sparkles around for a little bit was fun while it lasted. I was annoyed by the sound it makes when you touch the screen. . .and annoyed since you can’t ‘touch and slide’ around on the screen. Instead you have to touch the screen a whole bunch and listen to that crazy noise over and over and over(not fun).

TouchScan is a novelty application that gives you an ice breaker when meeting a new woman or just a new friend in general. You can set it up so that the answers are whatever you want them to be.

Note – This is not a real fingerprint scanner. . .it is just a toy.

You go into the main Settings application and scroll to the bottom to find the settings for this application. I imagine they keep this separate so it doesn’t give away the secret(that this is only a toy!). Here you can set both versions of the scan.

Supposedly you can do a trick and make the application give you either answer you want, but I couldn’t figure it out. I thought it would be if both thumbs were placed on either side at the same time, or one at a time. . .and then that would determine whether or not it gives you one answer or another. . .but I couldn’t figure it out. The ‘secret’ isn’t included in the description on the iTunes page, and I didn’t see it inside the application(or in the settings). . .so I imagine they want you to go to their website to learn the secret.

Liquid is a water simulation style application that emulates water inside your iPhone and iPod Touch. Tilt the device to the right and you’ll see the water go toward the right. . .lay it flat and you’ll see the water spread out. It’s like you actually filled your device full of water!

You also hear the sound of the water as it moves from side to side. It sounds a little odd(not really like water), but it sounds semi-real(at least it’s a good effort). Touching the screen will move the water around it like you actually put your hand in the water. Touching the small ‘i’ at the bottom right brings up the settings page where you can change the color of the water and even change the patter of the background.

This is one of those applications like Koi Pond, where you get it just to show off the iPhone to your friends and co-workers. While it would be crazy paying more than a dollar, the developer was smart enough to keep it at a good price point.

Quotes and Facts combines dozens of facts with a slew of quotes(from tv and movies to famous people). Each topic is organized into different sections so you can quickly find the facts or quotes that you’re looking for.

The developer says there are hundreds of facts and quotes. I wasn’t going to count, but I would guess there is no more than 200, probably more like 100-125.

When you go to the facts, and pick a topic, generally there is only a couple pages of facts. The same can be said about quotes too. I was disappointed to see that there weren’t really movie quotes. Instead it listed some movies and gave you the option to go to the wiki page or do a search on google. And all it does is close the application and opens up the page in MobileSafari. The least they could do is actually build a database of quotes to make it available for iPod Touch owners who aren’t online all the time.

Unless this application is making good money(which I doubt it is), this is an application that I feel should be free with revenue coming from banner ads. Then as the developer upgrades the application with more quotes it will become a better application and then in turn get more exposure.

Numerology is an application to help explain the study of numbers represented by a person’s name and birth date. Supposedly you can find out a lot about someone by using this methodology.

You can create as many profiles for people as you want, which makes it perfect for adding your friends, family, and even celebrities. Just add their entire birth name, along with their date of birth, and then you can read all about the person(as much as numerology can tell you).

This should be used for entertainment purposes only. I would say it’s as accurate as astrology and horoscopes, but a LOT of people really believe in them.

iGiftWrap lets you surprise someone with a gift. . .without having to actually give them something. Setup a outside message, and then another message to be displayed inside, after the ‘wrapper’ has been taken off.

You can customize the paper/bow design and even include a custom picture inside the box. Want to propose to someone. . .take a picture of the ring. Want to go on a vacation. . .put a picture of the destination.

This is really just a toy but if you’re creative enough it could be used to give a great gift or something very romantic for that special someone.

iHourglass is a virtual hourglass that is used just like any other timer. . .except that iHourglass gives you a visual take on just a regular timer. You can pick between the default 30, 60, 90 seconds and even go all the way up to 5 minutes. If you need a specific custom time then you can do that as well.

You can use the default hourglass or you can use 1 of 9 styles that comes with the application. The only thing I didn’t like about this is that you can go and pick a specific one. Instead you must scroll through them one at a time until you find the one you’re looking for. Having the ‘Change Hourglass’ button would do better if it went to a page where you could pick the style you want.

The animation is very nice. You would think that the longer the timer is, then the more sand they would use to fill the hourglass. Actually it only slows down how fast the sand falls(timing it out exactly to the time that you set).

FirePlace is just that, a fireplace. Nothing more and nothing less. Well, maybe a little more. It includes real-life sounds to help it emulate a real fireplace. There’s also a button to turn on/off classical background music that plays while the fire roars.

This isn’t anything special, but it is great if you leave your device plugged into a dock a lot and would like to add a little soothing background noise while you work, check email, rss, etc.

The image isn’t very crisp or bright. . .I think there could be a better way to utilize the high resolution screen, but it doesn’t look bad or anything. They should also let you really turn the volume louder. I had to turn it up all the way just to really hear the crackling of the fire.

Dot reminds me of the toy I had when I was a kid, Lite-Bright. Except in this application you never run out of pegs of a certain color.

With Dot you pick between 9 colors and fill in the holes to design pieces of art with the power of lights. Dot comes with 7 patterns by default, but you can make your own patterns by importing images from your Photo Roll. You can save the designs you make in 2 different ways. Firstly, you can save the project(so that you can work on it later), but you can also save the a captured image and then see the image in your Photo Roll(to email, use it as a background, etc).

The dots are so small and can be hard to touch the exact one you’re trying to hit. If you mess up, it’s no big deal because they give you the color black that lets you ‘undo’ any dots you want to fix. I think a big ‘undo’ button would do better than this. . .you obviously hit the wrong spot to make it a color you didn’t want it to be, but then you have to find that one spot again to change it back to black. This can be very hard to do and in turn can make you mess up even more of the design.

Also a way to zoom in and pan around the dots would be a good feature to prevent people from hitting the wrong dot. Maybe it’s just me and my thumbs are crazy big but if people complain about the keyboard, this isn’t any easier.

Make a Face is like Mr. Potato Head, but cartoonized. Pick from hundreds of head shapes, mouths, and noses and even colors. You can also move the individual pieces like the mouth, nose, eyes, and place them exactly where you want.

When you’re finished you can save the image directly to your Photo Roll and from there you can use it as a background or email it to yourself and friends. Make a Face is great for kids who need a creative outlet while waiting in line at the store or riding in a car.

Voice Changer lets you record your voice and then pick between 8 different effects to do to it. You can’t do the effects ‘live’ while you talk, but you can record as much audio as you want and then play it back with the effect.

You can even save the audio clips within the application and load them at a later time. Or you can also sync the clips over WiFi directly to your computer.

The effects that you can do with your voice are rather amusing, especially when you’re playing a joke on a friend. I would like to see more effects added to the application though. . .the 8 that are included are nice, but the possibilities for effects could be endless.

Score is an easy way to keep track of the score between players of any game. Instead of using a piece of paper or trying to keep track of the points in your head(which can be confusing at times). . .now you can use Score to keep track of who’s winning.

You can keep track of up to 6 players per and give them either their own color or their own picture. Adjust the points by 1, 5 or 10 points at a time. . .and watch the top row keep the current rank.

Score also comes with custom ‘modules’ for specific games, like Goa, Lost Cities, Yahtzee, Oasis, and more(over 12 so far).

Autumn is a toy application where you can control the wind/leaves. Shake the device and watch the leaves sprawl out in every direction.

You can even control the wind/leaves with the touch control. Create a gust of wind(with repeated touch gestures) and watch the leaves be manipulated as if it were actually real.

iKnock Jokes is an interactive knock-knock joke application. Using a database of knock knock jokes(the developer says “hundreds”), and the touch screen you get some humorous jokes to keep you entertained during the most boring or times.

You double-tap the screen to start the joke, and then after each part you must tap the screen again to progress through the joke. Then at the end of the joke you hear a funny giggle.

Pocket Clapper is used when you need you’re making a movie and want need a way to synchronize both audio and video(when recorded separately). This makes it so that you don’t have to carry one of those big ones around all the time. Now you can just bring your iPhone.

Use it just like you would use a real one. . .write on it with chalk and then erase it if you make a mistake. If you need to zoom in, just double tap the screen and it zooms in(making it easier to write on it). You then have scroll bars on the right and bottom so that you can move around.

When you’re ready to make the ‘clapping’ sound, shake the device up and down(assuming you’re holding it on it’s side), and you’ll hear it.

iFx Magic is a graphical effects generator for your photos. You can either pick a pre-saved image from your Photo Roll or you can take a live picture and use it. It comes with over 56 visual effects that you can pick through(including things like mosiac, ripple, and warp).

All you have to do is pick an image(or take one) and then touch the FX button to pick the effect. You can then choose to save the image for viewing later or you can email it to your friends(like with any other saved images).

Some of the effects don’t really do much, but some are actually pretty cool.

Tarot is a virtual tarot card reader that you can keep inside your iPhone and iPod Touch to use wherever you go. With 78 tarot cards(with full definitions for them) and 8 different ways(3 card deal, 2 card, 1 card, and many other ways) to deal the cards.

It also comes with a ‘browser’ so that you can scroll through all of the cards and read what they do. The developer wants to remind that this is for entertainment purposes only. Do not expect any fortunes to actually come true.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a professional at reading tarot cards or a beginner. This application will help you understand what the cards mean(as best as possible).
