Touch Karma is a collection of 3 mini-applications. 2 of these apps track karma points and the other monitors your piggy bank activity.

The application is setup very well. You can add ‘babies’ or ‘friends’ and give them a goal. So if they do good things, they get so many points, and then they get enough points they get a prize, or money, or something. This is great for kids, which is why the developers emphasized the ‘babies’ part so much.

You can add a ‘kid’ and give them a goal like ‘ice cream’ or ‘money’ then during the day you can add and/or remove karma points for specific actions. So, if the kid does a chore, you can give him points. . .depending on what they do you can give them(or take away) as many as 5 points per action.

I’m not sure why they forced the ‘piggy bank’ part into this application. To me I just wouldn’t think that it fits. But maybe the developers had an idea, and thought that the ‘piggy bank’ portion of the application wouldn’t do well if it were on it’s own. . .or maybe it would help boost sales.

In any case, you essentially get 2 applications bundled into 1(which is a great way to keep your home screen clutter-free!).

iMakeDecisions is a collection of just about every decision making application that you can think of. From playing cards, to the magic 8-ball. . .from coin tosses to a numbered dart board. You can literally let this application most of your future decisions.

This application would have sucked if it were just a coin toss app. . .or just a magic 8-ball. But thankfully the developers have included 10 different ‘mini-apps’ to answer just about anything you can ask.

While I don’t see the use of a dart board that lets you get a random number between 1-8. . .and I don’t get the ability to randomly get a color code. It’s nice that they included it(just in case). I mean with a sophisticated device that the iPhone is, it’s this really packs a lot of functionality into 1 simple application.

I really like how this application turned out and hope the developers continue to add more things to the main menu.

Memento is a creative e-card creator that lets you pick a style, take a picture(or use one), add some text, and then email it to your friends or family.

Memento comes with over 20 different templates to use making the selection not as good as it could be. . .but for a dollar what more could you ask for I guess. Thankfully the developers say that they will be adding more styles with future updates. This of course will be what makes or breaks this application. If there were 100+ styles then this would be a home run e-card maker. . .but with less than 2 dozen, it pretty much limits you to what you can send.

Memento is very easy to use, because of that. . .I really feel this could be a great application(if they only added more styles to choose from). They could even go as far as writing out instructions on how to make your own, and then let their own users create styles and submit them to the developer.

Sonic Lighter is yet another Virtual Lighter application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The best part about this virtual lighter is that it has other features included. So if you get bored of just the lighter then at least there are other things to entertain you.

Sonic Lighter falls into one of those toy/fun categories of applications. While it is fun for a few minutes, even with the additional features it can lose it’s ‘new car smell’ very quickly.

So at the core of this application it is just a virtual lighter. You swipe the flint and watch the flame ignite. Thankfully the developer team Smule recognized that such an application needs more so they added more features. Instead of just seeing a regular flame you get to pick one of two colors. While I think this would be better if there was a generic color picker, they use 2 colors to ask a question and give you a visualization of the results. So when I opened Sonic Lighter it asked me who I like more, Godzilla or King Kong.

If you pick Godzilla you get to see a green flame, if you pick King Kong you get to see a Yellow flame. They give you a ‘map’ feature, so that you can see what everyone else thinks too. So you can visually see what everyone else says, and even see a regions’ majority(so many Americans like Godzilla more than Europeans).

Smule spent a lot of time on the detail on just the flame alone. Tilting the device to the right will make the flame angle on the other side(just like a real lighter). If you blow into the microphone of the iPhone then you will see the flame wobble, and if you blow too hard then the flame goes out.

Another fun feature of this application is the ability to ‘light’ other Sonic Lighter applications on completely separate devices. So if you put your lit device next to one that doesn’t have a flame, it will ignite the unlit device. . .like magic! I haven’t been able to test this personally(I don’t have 2 iPhones), but I have seen a few videos on YouTube, and it is a very unique feature.

iWedding is a dynamic wedding planner. Instead of having to keep track of all of this data on paper or in files on your computer(where you don’t have access to all the time). Now you have a mobile application that you can keep with you at all times. . .and will help you every step of the way.

There are a LOT of things you have to do and prepare for when planning a wedding, so much so that you MUST keep track of it one way or another. iWedding will help you and keep you up to date with everything from a countdown to your wedding date, photo gallery, notes, previous examples(the inspiration tab), budget manager, and a database to keep track of all the information you add and need for your wedding date.

The developers have been very good and issuing updates, which is very rare in the App Store(which I guess compensates for the high price tag). Hopefully the developers continue working on the user interface(and overall design) and make it a little more appealing.

iFlipClock Plus is a classy, retro looking flipclock that not only animates just like a real old school flipclock, but also mimics the sound(when you turn that setting on).

Going into the settings is pretty self explanatory. . .you just touch the clock. To get out of the settings page and go back to the clock. . .touch the circle in the middle that says ‘flip’.

The animation of the flips are turned on by default, but they turn off the sound for some reason. Going into the settings you’ll see that you can turn this on for the seconds, minutes, and/or hours. Here you can customize the time format, portrait/landscape modes, AM/PM, and more. A nice touch inside the settings is the dial for the dimmer, instead of just setting 1, 2, or 3. . .you mimic twisting/turning the dial.

iFlipClock Plus comes with multiple skins(45) included, and the developer promises to add more in future updates. A ‘keep active’ mode prevents your device from going into standby mode while the application is open. You can also set the colors for the numbers, and even set the different numbers(hours, minutes, seconds) to different colors.

Wine List is an easy way to keep track of every wine you’ve ever had. Whether you liked the wine or not, now you can always remember every wine you taste. Keeping track with dozens and dozens of wine can get confusing, but not anymore.

Early on it can be easy to remember the few wines you’ve tasted but the more you try the harder it is to remember. With Wine List you can enter details like the Winery, Varietal, Vintage, Type, Price, Location, Notes, Rating and an Image for every wine you try.

The app lists the wins in a very easy to read format. You can read a summary of the wines just by opening the application, but you can also get more details about saved wines by picking one.

Alias-i is the application for the multi-talented and very organized entrepreneur. Or anyone with multiple email addresses, phone numbers, or addresses used for different situations and circumstances.

It’s very easy to import different pictures and contact details for your multiple business personas(up to 5), and then email these details to anyone, anytime. Instead of having to shuffle through multiple business cards or manually typing out those different contact details because you have so many. The different photos that you can import for each different alias enables you to quickly pick out the one you’re looking for.

Hail Mary is a way to get a rosary prayer for that particular day. It comes with glass beads so it’s just like a real rosary would be. If you are a Roman Catholic then this is the application that you’ve been waiting for.

Touching the screen highlights another glass bead and displays the next prayer in the list. Hail Mary also comes in the French, Italian, and the Spanish language.

Double tapping the bead necklace will bring up a menu at the top that lets you pick a prayer for a specific day.

Holidays+ shows you when exactly a certain holiday is. . .which is great for finding out when that next off day is. Not only does it show you the date of holiday but it also shows how many days you have until that holiday.

You can even go through future dates(like next year or the year after that) to find out what day a specific holiday falls on. This goes all the way to the year 2019.

Birthdays is a way to organize and keep track of your friends’ birthdays. Get reminded up to 30 days in advance so that you never forget to get a present, card, or at least call them.

You can either pull pre-existing contacts and use the data that way. . .or you can manually add contacts from within the application. . .and then it uses the saved contact data.

The order of the contacts listed in Birthdays are ordered by the contact with the closest birthday. When you get within range the white spot will turn red, and then once you’ve done or purchased what you need for that person you can touch the circle and it will ‘check’ that birthday. This makes it super easy to figure out which birthdays you’ve taken care of, and which ones you have yet to deal with.

myBadHabits is an application that will help you keep track of your bad habits, and how long it’s been since you last did that specific habit. You can track multiple habits, and the color shading will help you to quickly reference which habits you’re doing good with. . .and which ones you can’t break.

It easy to add multiple habits by simply adding them one by one. Once they are added they’re saved into the application and you never have to worry about that again. Anytime you want to check your habits, just open the application see how many days it’s been since you last did said habit.

ColorMatch is an application that lets you find the best color schemes for anything like clothes, paint, websites, etc. All you have to do is pick your color, and to the right of the ‘color pad’ you’ll see the best matching colors that go with it.

You can change the color scheme to other colors that match by using the bottom slider.

I’ve always had problems trying to come up with the best color scheme to use on a website. This makes it easy to pick a background, and then you’ll see all the other colors that you can use with it that compliments the original color.

Although the application would be very useful for some. . .I think overall it’s just not worth the price. This is worth it for some people, but when you want to target a mass audience I think not everyone sees that price point as fair. Then again I could be totally wrong(I have no idea how the sales are doing for this application).
