MapsBuddy helps you to quickly find locations on your maps application. This is a great tool if you find yourself searching the same thing when you go to the maps application.

While this doesn’t do much except auto input some text into the maps application. . .if you search for a handful of the same things, then this could save a little time and save you from a lot of hassle.

I don’t find myself searching for the same few things over and over. So I really don’t mind manually typing in the search terms. But maybe you type in a lot of long search terms or a lot of them into the maps application. With MapsBuddy you can setup your own custom searches and have 1 touch access to them.

I assume this application was created for anyone that tends to use the maps application while driving. Being able to open an application, touch a search term(which you can add your own, save favorites, etc) is VERY useful when you’re driving.

McFinder uses the location feature in your iPhone and iPod Touch to find out where you are, and where the closest McDonalds fast food places are. Then when you pick one it will show take you directly to the stock maps application and let you get directions to it.

McFinder is a lot like the application I reviewed yesterday, Grande Getter. . .so much so that it’s made by the same developers! Instead of finding coffee though, this applications finds the nearest McDonalds.

It’s very simple, and doesn’t come with any settings or configuration, just open it and it will automatically show you. Again, this is something that you can do by going to the maps application and searching for McDonalds. . .but if you’re lazy enough you’ll enjoy this application.

Grande Getter will grab your location and find the closest Starbucks around you. It will list the closest ones and allow you to go directly to them in your Google Maps application. From there you can get directions if you don’t know how to get there.

I’m not really sure how many it will list(it only listed 5 for me) or how many miles it goes looking for them. There’s no setting to configure this, and I can’t find the details in the iTunes page(you would think the developer would include this).

The application is very simple and it takes about a minute to find the nearest locations. While this is a useful feature, isn’t that what the Maps application does when you search for Starbucks, or even just Coffee?

Guide.me lets you email your current location(and a picture if you want) to anyone you want so they can find you. Whether you’re lost in the park/zoo or you want to help someone find you, Guide.me does all the work for you, while you just wait for people to find you.

Guide.me uses the GPS chip or triangulation to find out where you are, and email the link to Google Maps to show exactly where you are. Whoever gets the email can click the link and find out where you’re at.

This is great if you’re lost, or someone just asked you for directions. You can just open this application, send them an email and they get a link to Google Maps that shows your exact location. Then they can simply get directions to where you are.

Guide.me is for the truly lazy, for those who don’t even want to give directions. I like this application because there are 6 turns inside my neighborhood, and if you make one wrong turn it dead ends. So it’s really easy to get lost. Now I can just open the application, send an email. . .and whoever needs to get to my house can get directions from Google.

Coffee Seeker helps you find popular stores that sell coffee. Stores range from Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, Peet’s Coffee, and even some Tea locations. It uses the location feature to find the stores that are closest to you.

If you like a specific store then you can save it in the Favorites tab, but also if you don’t like a store you can save it to the modified tab and you won’t ever see that store location again.

When I used this application it only pulls up Starbucks stores. . .in the description the developer says that it shows up Dunkin Donuts and a couple other stores. I know of a Dunkin Donuts even closer than a Starbucks. . .but it doesn’t show up in the application at all.

Car Finder is a navigation application that lets you mark exactly where your car is. Close the application and everything saves. When you’re ready to find your car, open it up, and follow the directions. You can also look at it on the map so you can find out where it is in relation to where you are.

This application works better if you have the 3G iPhone with the GPS chip. . .it still works for the iPod Touch but it’s much harder to pull off with WiFi triangulation.

SpeedBox uses the built-in GPS unit to find out just how fast you’re traveling. You can see the GPS Accuracy level, live while the application is running.

Touching the small ‘i’ in the bottom right of the application takes you to the Options where you can switch between kilometer and miles.

G-Spot uses figures out your latitude and longitude using the iPhone 3G’s built-in GPS antenna.

I do apologize for not being able to show you more of this application. . .since I only have an iPod Touch(no GPS).

G-Park is a ‘where did I park’ application. This does work on the iPod Touch(if you can get on wifi in the parking lot). . .but really shines on the iPhone(on both the 2G and 3G models).

Touch the ‘Park Me’ button when you park your car, and then go shop or do whatever you need. Then when you’re ready to find your car, tiouch the ‘Where did I park’ button and it will direct you to your car.

You get two options when you touch the button, you can either get directions or you can get the exact location.
