Typing Genius helps you practice and learn how to type well on the iPhone and iPod Touch. With tips, tests, challenges and stats, you can keep track of your progress throughout the time that you use the application.

Typing Genius comes with both landscape and portrait modes so if you’re having trouble with one or the other you can specifically learn just that style. There are dozens of settings to let you customize the tips that you learn as well as the tests that you take. This again is great because if you have issues with just one aspect of typing, you can practice and learn tips on just that.

The stats are recorded for each ‘section’, and overtime. So you can monitor your progress and see if you’re doing better or worse.

Typing on the touch screen without keys is the 1 major hardware flaw that both owners and potential owners of the iPhone agree on. Some say that if they came out with a physical keyboard they would switch. I don’t mind typing on the iPhone as long as I can go into landscape mode and type with two thumbs. While the keyboard lags up from time to time because I type fast this way. It queues all the key presses, so that you can continue and everything will be as you typed it. Typing Genius will continue to help me increase my landscape typing speed as I use it over the next few months.

Pano is a panoramic photo creator application that does everything almost instantly. All you have to do is take your pictures(however many you want) and then you’re done. Pano will combine your pictures and save the panorama image in your Photo Roll.

Note – Do not use my test image as an example of what your panorama will look like. I was pinched for time and couldn’t go outside since it’s dark.

The application tells you to take the left most image, and then work your way toward the right. When you take the last image, touch the cancel button and it will render all the images into one panoramic photo. It also automatically saves it so you can view it later or email it around.

After you finish your first image it gives you a button you can touch be taken to a tips page. This page is just a website, so it will close the application and open MobileSafari. Then you have a list of tips and an FAQ.

Why they give you the ability to read tips, after making your image, is beyond me, but at least it does include tips. But you can check the iTunes page for a much better example of the panoramic images you can make.

f/8 is a utility for photography professionals and enthusiasts alike. Now you can use this app to calculate the depth-of-field and hyperfocal distance to get the best pictures possible.

Instead of having to manually figure out the dept of field which can result in missing that one good shot, now you can let f/8 do it all for you.

I don’t know anything about photography, so I can’t fully test this\. . . but maybe someone here can tell me how well it works?

iBlur is a picture manipulation software that makes strong use of your device’s accelerometer in order to blur pictures. The application starts out by giving you a choice to take a new picture or use one that is already on the device. Following that, you shake your device for a couple of seconds, in order to help the application establish.

Once you have a picture selected, you have a couple of seconds during which you can shake your device; the more you shake, the blurrier the picture will become. The intensity and direction of the shake also affect the way the picture is blurred, resulting in unique results most of the time.

The device then proceeds with rendering your picture and once that step is completed, you can save the picture to your photo roll.

If you are in the business of blurring pictures and need to do so on the go, iBlur is the application you have been waiting for, for everyone else, this application only provides entertainment for a while.

ImageTouch is a collage creator that allows you to import any saved pictures from your Photo Roll and position them anywhere on the collage. Just use the touch controls(pinch and drag) to move the images around. You can even go in and add miscellaneous items(like stars) anywhere on your collage.

Save collages, browse through saved collages, export collages, email collages, etc. ImageTouch makes it easy to use and easy to create nice looking collages.

PicasaClient lets you control your Picasa Web Album from your iPhone and iPod Touch. Upload, download, take pictures, create albums, etc. You can do just about anything you want(as far as managing your albums) directly from the application.

Some of the text in this application is not in English(like setting a title/description for a gallery). But it’s nothing horrible, you can still understand what the text is supposed to be.

You don’t get any of the photo editing abilities like you do in the full Picasa application. . .although, I think that would be hard to implement on the small screen(and the touch controls)

PhotoJot adds a lot of features to the camera, and the pictures you take, that a lot of people wish Apple had included in the original camera app. From notes to GPS, the date and more. . .you can now add more information to the pictures you take with your iPhone.

I’m not sure why Apple doesn’t allow you to tag photos with additional information like the location, notes, time, etc., but now you can with PhotoJot. You can add photos from your Photo Roll, or you can take a picture from inside the application and add it to a jot(or a set). Then you can add the information for those photos.

This is a dream application for highly organized photographers that want to use their iPhone’s to take pictures, for like a vacation, meeting, job, etc.

AirMe lets you take a picture and upload it directly to your Flickr account(and then tweet it too). If you don’t have(or want) a Flickr account you can also have it upload directly to AirMe.com instead.
