Punch-O-Meter reminds me a lot of the old flash games that tested you to see how hard you could slap/spank a monkey. The faster you spank it, the higher the score. . .and the same goes here, the faster you punch, the higher your score.

Punch-O-Meter comes with a local high scores page that lets you track your hardest/fastest punches.

I must warn you to be careful when you start swinging the device to get your best score. The iPhone and iPod Touch can slip out of your hands very easily. Especially when you’re no longer ‘punching’ because you notice a ‘throwing motion’ gives you better score, lol.

Snow Reports is a completely customizable application that keeps you up to date about the most recent status updates from your favorite ski resorts(that you can add individually).

I had first thought this application told you when it was snowing and when the school closest to you(or of your choice) will be closed/open. Actually, Snow Reports will tell you some of the more important details about your favorite ski resorts.

When you first open the application you pick the state that you will be skiing in, then pick the ski resort that you’ll be skiing at. . .and then it will tell you some basic details like how many trails are open, how many lifts are open, new snow and base depth. While this is all very interesting for quick reference, the app also gives you a ‘Web’ and ‘Call’ button that you can use to quickly get in touch with the ski resort of your choice.

You also have a ‘Report’ and ‘Weather’ button that opens an in-app browser that shows you some information on a website(OnTheSnow.com). While I’m glad the developers decided to make an in-app browser to prevent the application from closing and opening the MobileSafari application. . .I think they could parse the data, and actually make it so that I can read it(and not have to zoom in and scroll around to read it).

If you go skiing a LOT and just want a way to find out some information about the resorts around you, then this application is exactly what you’re looking for. I just don’t see that many people wanting to purchase something like this when they can just go to the website(or call) the resort they’re interested in going to. Then again, I don’t go skiing so maybe this is the most optimal way of checking.

PasturePool Golf lets you track and monitor your Golf score at any of the major Golf Courses. Using a database of (I assume) hundreds of courses across the country or simply add your own ‘custom’ course to the database.

A great feature included in this application is the ability to synchronize your data into your PasturePool account. This way you can see your progress over time. I’m not sure of the features that are included in their website account(or if it costs money or not), but the application comes with an offline mode so you don’t have to use that feature if you don’t want to.

When you setup a game it will ask you for the name and location of the course. They do this so that they can get the par data(and other misc data) for each hole. But as I said you can add your own if they don’t include yours. This takes a little more time than just jumping into the application but it’s not bad at all.

The strengths of this application is not in the design. . .but more in the functionality. While this is a very useful tool if you’re an avid golfer, it won’t mean much to many of the iPhone owners.

Plus / Minus is a statistics tracker to help you monitor who has the winning edge. Give your team a plus 1 if they do well in certain aspects or give the team a minus 1 if they fail. This way you can keep track of how well or how poorly they perform during those situations.

Set the date before hand and the application will keep track of exactly when you gave it a plus or minus. Stats are useful when you can look at a collection of data. Plus / Minus gives you the ability to easily collect and use that kind of data.

This application might not sound that important but an avid sports fan would find it very useful.

Tee Times makes it super easy to find an available tee time for local golf courses. All you have to do is pick an area that you’re interested in and then it will list all of the courses and the times that you can schedule your next game.

I’m surprised that this application doesn’t use the location feature to find out where you are, but it does come with a list of every supported golf course. Instead of having to go through a list to your state and then local city, the application should make it so that you only have to pick the course you want. Then make a deposit and that time slot is yours.

It is nice that you get a discount from the various courses but the downfall is that not every course is listed(only ones that are partnered with BallBound.com). But if you’re favorite course is listed then this application is perfect for you.

myParlay is a parlay payout calculator to help you figure out how much you won or lost on your active parlay bets. This application is based on the U.S. moneyline odds convention and lets you calculate up to 7 games(with different odds) at a time.

myPaylay also lets you see your total ‘ticket’ so you can see if you are up or down in your overall bets.

If you’re a little confused about what a segment is(like moneyline odds or payout factor), then you can touch it and it will give you a brief description for it. Then again if you’re not really sure what one of these parts means(like myself). . .I doubt this application is for you.

MLB.com at Bat is a great application for the hardcore baseball fans. When you first open it up you’re given 3 screens that you can scroll through(like you scroll through the home page). These screens are for games being played Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Check the scores for the listed baseball games or if there are any currently playing right now.

Touching the small camera icon on the games that have already been played and you will be brought to a list of video highlights. You will be surprised at how quickly this is updated too(for games being played right now). This opens your video player and you can then watch these the baseball game highlights with your iPhone or iPod Touch.

This application holds baseball player statistics for every single player. . .ever(1871 – 2007). This is great for trivia games, bets, or settling that arguement with your buddy at the bar.

When you first open the application you are shown a list of Baseball Teams. Click into a team and then you are shown a list of years. Pick a year and then a list of players are shown. This is every player on that team. . .in that year.

Click onto a Player’s name, and you’ll be brought into the statistics for that specific player. This page shows you personal, batting, pitching, and fielding stats.

There is also a search feature that lets you search for a specific team or a specific player. Then instead of having to go to a team. . .then the year. . .then the player. You can just search and go straight there.
