Best of Plant Identification Apps

With the help of the app PlantNet, you may identify plants by taking a photo of them using your smartphone.

All types of plants found in nature, including blooming flowers, trees, grasses, conifers, ferns, vines, wild salads, and cacti, can be recognized and understood better thanks to PlantNet. PlantNet is able to identify many cultivated plants found in parks and gardens, however, this is not its main objective. Users of PlantNet are especially needed to catalog wild plants, including those you may see in nature as well as those that sprout up in the center of your food garden or on city streets.

Approximately 20,000 species may already be recognized using PlantNet. PlantNet continues to grow every day because of the efforts of the most knowledgeable users among you, even if we are still far from the 360,000 species that exist on Earth. Your observation will be evaluated by the community and could eventually be added to the photo gallery used to illustrate the species in the app.

Enhancements and additional features:

  • The capacity to group recognized species according to genus or family.
  • People who have demonstrated the greatest aptitude for counting the number of observed species and having their observations be accepted by the community are given priority in the distinct data revision.
  • The redefinition of previously shared observations, whether they were made by you or other app users.
  • The application’s multi-flora identification feature enables you to look for the photographed plant across all of its flora, not just the one you’ve chosen. It is very helpful when you’re unsure of what kind of flora to seek.
  • The choice of your preferred floras to get to them more rapidly
  • The image gallery navigation at several taxonomic levels.
  • Your observations are mapped out.
  • Links to a lot of fact sheets.
